Tips for designing a website
Choosing or making the right web design for your company or your product can be a real headache, especially when it comes to positioning important information, advertisements and styling the way that your content looks. Today we are going to cover some does and don‘ts that you want to keep in mind when you are choosing or making your web design.
First things first, if you have just installed your CMS DO NOT leave the default theme on there. It is very doubtful that by doing this you will manage to keep a cool and professional look to your visitors. Instead of doing that you should either edit a premade theme or make one from scratch.
Whether you are making your design from scratch or using a premade one as a canvas, do remember that simplicity is the key to happiness. No one likes too much gloss, glow or sparkle it just makes your website look unprofessional and drives away potential customers. Being simple will help you to keep up your professional look and maintain a user-friendly environment for your visitors or customers.

The next thing is positioning. Positioning the information that you want your visitors to see is crucial if you want to make them buy or click anything. Some website builders have nice designs with some especially chosen spots for products or services that you might offer. With a bit of playing around you may be able to achieve the right look and feel.
What you want to look at next is speed. Don’t drive away your visitors by having a website that loads over 5 minutes. No one is going to wait that long unless what you have to offer on your site is a matter of life and death. You can minimize the load time by avoiding too many java-scripts, an overload of flash content and large images. Also, do check the speeds that your hosting provider offers, since sometimes it might be even better to switch to a free website host due to the speeds.
Remember that the opinions of other people count. You are not making the website for yourself, you’re making it for other people, and so having some feedback and constructive criticism is always good. This also helps you to check the load times for various other machines and how the website is rendered.
To put this all short, all you have to do is make it easy on the eyes, fast and keep in mind that positioning the information matters. If you think you have limited web design skills, you can always try out some website builders that some website hosts have to offer.
