To the Rescue: HOST1PLUS Will Sponsor the Chakra Project
Developers and administrators, working with or insterested in Chakra, a Linux distribution focused on KDE and Qt technologies and based on free and open source software, have seen a worrying ‘Server Down’ error when trying to reach their original website chakra-project.org for the past week. Meanwhile, the Chakra team is doing their best to resolve the situation and guide their visitors to chakraos.org, which will eventually serve as a replacement website for the no longer available chakra-project.org. HOST1PLUS contributes to the successful growth of the project by hosting the new website and making sure it’s accessible in the future no less than 99,99% of the time.
It is no doubt a stressful time for the Chakra team, who are trying hard to set up the new server as soon as possible and simultaneously inform the community via social networks about all the changes. Answers to essentials questions in regards to bringing the project back online, as well as its future development can be found on their Facebook or Twitter page and Google Group Chakra-devel. A short status report is also available on the homepage of chakraos.org, which explains which remaining parts and services of the website are not yet available.
Since their previous hosting account was no longer accessible and their website was down, the Chakra team had to look for another host and HOST1PLUS is proud to be the one they choose. As Neophytos Kolokotronis mentioned speaking on behalf of the Chakra team: “Our team has worked for more than 4 years now to provide Chakra to our users, a distribution which we hope they enjoy using as much as we enjoy creating. After experiencing issues with our previous server, we decided to choose HOST1PLUS because of their great collaboration and willingness to support us with their sponsoship, which is definitely appreciated. This was a temporary blackout for Chakra, but it’s also a start of a new level of organization, through which these kind of issues will be avoided”.
