Hi,

I would just like to start by saying hello and thank you for providing such a fantastic free web hosting service. I am really impressed with the features and professional setup. I have been with you for just a few days now and I'm loving it!

I am a professional web developer who specialises more in 'web applications' or 'services', rather than simple static websites, which are more common. It is very hard for me to find free hosting that I can develop my applications on (I usually use a local XAMPP server) and I must say that Host1Free is such a refreshing host that gives me more hope with developing for the web!

I have tried many, many free hosting providers and none of them come close to what Host1Free provides. For example, some of the many features that I need that I haven't found complete anywhere else are:

• Able to have files useable outside of the 'public' folder - you'd be surprised how lacking this is with free web hosts. Host1Free is the only provider I've found to actually support a typical setup of a framework like Zend without issues. All others I've tried either: don't let you upload outside of the public folder whatsoever; let you, but prevent 'includes', therefore being basically pointless; let you and allow includes, but have awkward open_basedir setup which causes havoc. With Host1Free, it just works!; no issues!
• Have domains/subdomains within their own area each - a lot of hosting providers (including my paid ones) make you have subdomains within a subfolder of your main domain, which sucks!
• Unrestricted capabilities of PHP - this is my most admirable quality of Host1Free. I am amazed at the features available. I require cURL, which I just cannot find anywhere else (several hosts I have tried claim they support it, but then find they don't at all after I've signed up!). Another feature is 'mail', which surprises me again as most hosts won't provide that for free!

Another thing I am amazed at with Host1Free is the speed. I have never found FTP on any other host (even my paid ones), as fast as Host1Free. It is lightning fast. Navigating directories and uploading files feels as if it's a local FTP server; it is that quick!

The management controls for Host1Free are also excellent. I have never found a provider to use the DirectAdmin control panel before, but I must say it is quite professional and provides all the functionality I need. Some hosts provide shoddy interfaces that lack features.

Now, my only (slight!) complaint with Host1Free is the 'code counter' code that is appended to everything, which is very bad, as: (1) it makes every page that it's on fail validation as the code is outside of the html tag; (2) it can corrupt data output to services; (3) it contaminates generated files (like SQL dumps). Luckily, though, this really helpful post actually from Host1Free themselves (so you know it's safe and legal) lets you remove it. Great! While this didn't let me remove it from SQL dumps in phpmyadmin, it certainly fixes things for my website itself (I haven't actually tried generated files yet, but I'd hope the .htaccess method would prevent those from being appended, too. I do actually think this shouldn't happen with generated files other than pages anyway, though.)

I'm sure I've probably forgotten something else that is great about Host1Free. I am totally impressed with this service and can't express my gratitude enough. I have serious intentions to sign-up for premium hosting in the future when I require it. I find your pricing and features to be incredible... My paid hosting I currently use doesn't compare to the price and features; I don't know why I hadn't seen this previously!
