Can i upload music for personal use?

I have a website and i want to put music on it so i can listen to it in other places. Would i get banned? What would happen if i password protected it?

If the music is copyrighted, then yes.

So technacly i need to have made the music myself. Right? That explains alot and im glad i didnt try it yet

Well in the world of internet and DRM, that is how it works. You can use/have it if you have the permission from the author or representative to do so. Technically we aren't held acountable if the files reside on our servers and we do not know about them. But we are constantly monitoring for various material and if we find something, we will suspend your account. Same applies if we get notified by someone about such material.
