FTP Problems with new account

I keep getting this error from a current version of Filezilla when I try to FTP to my new subdomain, splat.neru9.com:

452 Transfer aborted. No space left on device

It will eventually let me add a new file if I upload it enough times but it
will be empty. Then, if I upload it many more times, it may actually have
its correct contents. The same thing happens when replacing an existing file.

What the heck is going on? If the server were really out of space, then
adding the file wouldn't work even after 100 tries. I've never seen FTP
behave so strangely despite having used a number of different servers for
various work projects over the years.

If someone can help me sort this out, I'd really appreciate it.

The problem finally went away. I can FTP fine now.

I am VERY disappointed by how long it took to solve this problem. Or did it just go away on its own?
