Unexpected dowtime :(

Our team had "wonderful" weekend. Here is the full story of the downtime of Host1Free.com cloud system.
Saturday 6 a.m. we have received that httpd service is down. After we have connected through KVM we have noticed I/O errors. Two hours of analyzing the situation we have called to our data center that they would have a look to the hardware failure. The system monitor was showing everything normal...After another 4 hours of investigations we have called to data center again, but the same stuff was shown in system health monitor....
After 6 hours data center got the major failure of storage controller which just blew up. This morning 6 a.m. the controller was changed and at this time we are debugging Apache and recovering the data. Do not worry all data is saved and your websites are in the safe place.

Huge apologies hope you will understand the situation. We are doing our best to get all websites online without any sleep. Thank you for your patient.

That me again...

As you have noticed that we are back to normal...Still I am really unhappy with the quality of our cloud system, but the major things we have sorted. The problem was that cloud system which cost roughly about 25.000 Euros haven't approved it's performance. Thanks to our fiends from data center they have done great job working all night changing the stuff for the cloud system.

After the problem was fixed all /home partition was completely messed up, so it took about 4 hours to repair the data. Next week we will solve the problem with backup, so that if the same problem will appear we quickly will divert the data to another storage module.

In additional we have finally found the problem which was (and it is still causing) weird problems with connections refuses and connection time outs. The problem is with connection between storage modules and the actual services as Apache or Named. For example if the new users creates the account (by registering to the service) the DirectAdmin automatically does restart to it's user data files. That is normal procedure, but as we have about 5MB/s read speed this gets server to high loads and those timeouts.

The conclusion is this: We are looking for solution how we could solve the problem with read speed and hopefully we will get it sorted till the end of next week.
