Unable to create tables in Mysql?

Ok I have created a new Mysql db, when I try to add a table to the empty db nothing happens or well a yellow/orange bar shows up in the middle of the screen and each time i press go a shade around the "bar" is getting sharper..... Am I doing something wrong?

I have tried phpmyadmin both in chrome and IE with the same results...
